Establishing a state-of-the-art vocational training center for youth with skills in construction, IT, and trades. This program bridges the gap between education and employment, giving young people practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.
The Youth Vocational Training Center addresses critical skills gaps and youth unemployment challenges in Chiro Woreda. This comprehensive facility will provide market-relevant training programs for over 3,000 young people, equipping them with practical skills for immediate employment or entrepreneurship opportunities.
Facility construction includes specialized workshops for construction trades, automotive repair, electrical installation, plumbing, welding, and metalwork. Information technology laboratories provide training in computer repair, software applications, web development, and digital marketing skills.
Curriculum development emphasizes hands-on learning experiences that mirror real workplace conditions. Industry partnerships ensure training programs align with local labor market demands and provide pathways to employment upon graduation.
Entrepreneurship training components teach business planning, financial management, marketing, and customer service skills. Graduates receive support in developing business plans and accessing microfinance opportunities to start their own enterprises.
Job placement services connect graduates with employment opportunities through partnerships with local businesses, contractors, and development organizations. Career counseling and job search assistance improve employment outcomes for program participants.
Continuing education programs serve working adults seeking to upgrade their skills or learn new trades. Evening and weekend classes accommodate working schedules while providing opportunities for career advancement and skill diversification.
Gender inclusion strategies ensure equal access and participation for young women in all training programs, including traditionally male-dominated trades. Special support services address barriers that might prevent female participation in vocational training opportunities.
